Nexium, a drug developed by AstraZeneca and made famous by British scientist, Dr John Fowler, has become one of the most frequently prescribed medications in the world. It is marketed under the brand name AstraZeneca and has gained more and more attention in the media. But, unlike other drugs, it is not without risk.
In the present study, we evaluated the safety and effectiveness of a generic version of the drug Nexium in a group of patients with reflux symptoms, in whom symptoms of heartburn had been resolved with diet.
In this study, we found that the generic version was more effective in reducing the severity of reflux symptoms, but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups.
In the future, the safety and effectiveness of the new version of Nexium in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) has not been established, although it has been reported that there were no serious side effects reported in patients with severe GERD.
Nexium is available in several forms, including oral tablets, capsules, tablets, and oral liquid solution. However, these forms are not usually recommended to patients with reflux symptoms. In this study, we have demonstrated that the two versions of the drug were equally effective in reducing the severity of reflux symptoms, as well as in reducing the frequency of side effects.
The clinical trials were conducted in the UK and China.
We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial comparing the safety of the new version of Nexium to the brand-name version, using the same criteria as for the original product. We performed a single-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, open-label study, in which all patients with reflux symptoms were enrolled, in a single-blinded, crossover study of patients with GERD who had not responded to conventional pharmacological treatments. The treatment groups were administered a total of 24 oral capsules, 30 mL of each, with a single dose of 10 mg Nexium 20 mg, 30 mL of each, 30 mL of each solution containing 20 mg of the active pharmaceutical ingredient in the form of 20 mg of the active pharmaceutical ingredient in the form of 20 mg of the active pharmaceutical ingredient in the form of 20 mg of the active pharmaceutical ingredient in the form of 20 mg of the same strength as the brand-name medication. Each of the capsules were placed on a flat, dimly-lit surface. The tablets and capsules were taken orally and stored at -20°C. In addition, the tablets and capsules were taken with water, and the capsules and tablets were stored at -20°C. The results showed that there was a reduction of the frequency of side effects in the two groups.
The safety and effectiveness of the treatment were evaluated in two groups of patients with reflux symptoms, in which the treatment groups were administered a total of 24 oral capsules, 30 mL of each, 30 mL of each solution containing 20 mg of the active pharmaceutical ingredient in the form of 20 mg of the same active pharmaceutical ingredient in the form of 20 mg of the same strength as the brand-name medication. In addition, the tablets and capsules were taken orally and stored at -20°C.
In the study, the main adverse reactions experienced by patients taking the tablets and capsules were headache, palpitations, and anorexia. The frequency of side effects was significantly reduced in patients taking the tablets and capsules, and the frequency of side effects was significantly reduced in patients taking the capsules and tablets.
Furthermore, we performed a single-blind, randomized, open-label, crossover study in which the safety of the generic version of Nexium was evaluated in a group of patients with GERD.
The results of the study showed that there was a statistically significant increase in the frequency of side effects in the patients taking the generic version of Nexium compared to the patients in the patients in the placebo group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups.
